ABB has delivered the world's longest underwater power transmission link. On September 11, journalists from across Europe gathered in Norway for the official opening of a landmark feat of engineering - the 580-km NorNed cable connection that joins the power grids of Norway and the Netherlands.

    Sept. 5: ABB’s high-voltage power cable factory in Sweden is one of the most modern cable factories in the world, and has supplied dozens of power projects around the world, including the 580-km long link that now connects the power grids of Norway and the Netherlands. NorNed, the world’s longest submarine power link, passed operational tests at the end of June.
